Job summary

City of Howell is seeking an Ice Resurfacer Operator/Site Supervisor to oversee daily operations of the Fire and Ice Depot District during assigned shifts. You will supervise part-time staff, assist with customer service, and act as the primary on-site contact while ensuring safety and facility upkeep.

You will operate the ice resurfacer to maintain a high-quality surface for public skating, programs, and events, and you will support opening/closing procedures and maintenance tasks in a dynamic

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience operating an ice resurfacer (Zamboni) or similar equipment; training may be provided.
• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the Fire and Ice Depot District during assigned shifts and serve as the primary on-site contact.
• Provide day-to-day direction to part-time staff and enforce facility rules and safety protocols.
• Operate the ice resurfacer to maintain a high-quality ice surface and monitor conditions.
• Perform opening and closing procedures, facility checks, and required reporting.
• Coordinate with City maintenance or approved vendors and respond to emergencies as needed.
