Job summary

The Ice Maintenance Technician at South Suburban Parks and Recreation in Centennial, CO maintains ice rink surfaces and related facilities, ensuring events run on time according to the ice events schedule. Responsibilities

• Maintain ice rink surfaces and surrounding facilities according to the ice events schedule.
• Open and/or close the facility as needed; work varied shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Interact with the public and staff in a friendly, professional manner while keeping events on time.

Job description

This is an ongoing recruitment process, with no specific closingdate. We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis.

$16.40 - $20.90 per hour

The Ice Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep andmaintenance of ice rink surfaces and surrounding facilities including:player benches, locker rooms, Zamboni garages, walkways, glass,boards, etc., all while keeping events on time according to the iceevents schedule. This position will also have opening and/or closingresponsibilities. The job may require shifts ranging from morning toevening hours, weekends and holidays.

• Is knowledgeable in the proper use and preventative maintenance ofan ice re-surfacer and ice edger.
• Must have the ability to perform multiple functions at once andthe ability to handle the public in a friendly and professional manner.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally;establish and maintain working relationships with employees and the public.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years old with a high schooldiploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of the techniques and equipment involved in thecomponents of custodial maintenance, preventative maintenance andthe operations of an ice rink is required.
• Experience working with equipment including but not limited to theZamboni machines, ice edger, ice compressors, cooling towers andboiler units.
• CPR/AED & First Aid certifications or the ability to obtainupon hire are required.
