Job summary

The University of Saint Joseph is seeking a part-time assistant to assist the head coach in organizing and directing the women’s ice hockey program. Responsibilities include recruiting qualified student-athletes and ensuring their personal, athletic, and academic success. You will aid in developing practice, managing travel, and fundraising while ensuring compliance with NCAA standards.

This role requires a Bachelor’s degree and a commitment to creating a positive environment for athlete development.

Qualifications

• Assist in recruiting prospective qualified student‑athletes.
• Assist with game planning and supervision of practice.

Responsibilities

• Organize and direct all aspects of the collegiate program.
• Ensure compliance with NCAA Division III and GNAC policies.
• Manage team travel and other related duties.

Job description

Responsibilities include assisting the head coach with organizing and directing all aspects of a successful and competitive collegiate program. The recruitment of qualified student‑athletes and a demonstrated commitment to their personal, athletic, and academic success are essential. Responsibilities may also include recruiting, travel management, scheduling, player development, and budget management. This is a part‑time appointment.

• Assist in the process of recruiting prospective qualified student‑athletes.
• Assist in the development and supervision of practice and game planning.
• Assist with the organization of team travel.
• Effectively demonstrate technical skills at the collegiate level.
• Assist with fundraising.
• Ensure compliance with all College, NCAA Division III and GNAC policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as required by the Head Women’s Ice Hockey Coach.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Previous coaching experience at the secondary and/or college level preferred
