City of Bloomington, MN is seeking an Ice Garden Specialist to maintain a quality ice surface and keep lockers, lobbies, and surrounding areas clean at the Bloomington Ice Garden. The role supports scheduled resurfacings and general ice maintenance under the Facility Supervisor.
This part-time, year-round position requires 8–24 hours per week, with a starting wage between $17.44 and $18.86 per hour. Availability for nights and weekends is expected; benefits do not apply to this role.
Under the guidance of the Facility Supervisor, the Ice Garden Specialist (previously called Zamboni Driver) is responsible for maintaining a quality ice surface through scheduled resurfacings and other assigned ice maintenance at the Bloomington Ice Garden. The Ice Garden Specialist is responsible for the cleanliness of locker rooms, bathrooms, lobbies, bleachers and hallways, as well as other assigned areas.

BIG is open year round which allows for continues employment throughout the year. BIG is open from 6 a.m. through 11 p.m. most days of the year, including weekends and holidays, but hours can vary significantly based on ice and facility rentals. You must be available to work nights and weekends.
This is a part-time, non-exempt position and is not eligible for benefits.
Ongoing Part-Time employees who are employed for more than 6 months will make contributions to the pension program (PERA) through payroll deductions unless they qualify for one of the exemptions. In addition, Part-Time may receive Paid-time Off (PTO) at rate outlined in employee handbook and eligable for paid parental leave after 6 months of employment.
Temporary/Seasonal employees do not receive benefits outside of Paid-time Off (PTO) at rate outlined in employee handbook.
