Job summary

About Justins Ice Cream Company LLC

So, who is Justin? We were founded in 1981 by Justin Arecchi, who was passionate about Italian ice, gelato, ice cream, and creative flavors. Once his desserts were introduced to San Antonians, they became widely known and popular among the local community. Even President Clinton recognized Justin's Mango ice cream as a "national treasure" in 1992!Over 40 years since our beginning, we continue to make ice cream fresh daily with original favorites and new flavors. Justin's legacy lives on through his ice cream shop, although now owned by a local corporation, Weston Corporate Services, which is also the parent company of Rita's on the River. Visitors still travel to the shop seeking our nationally famous ice cream and are pleasantly surprised to find delicious assortments of desserts and beverages.

Description

Job Title: Ice Cream Scooper

Location: Justin's Ice Cream Co., San Antonio, TX

Hours: Full-Time (Closed on Sundays)

As an Ice Cream Scooper at Justin's Ice Cream Co, you're role is a great mix of fun & getting the job done. You'll be responsible for providing friendly and efficient guest service while preparing and serving ice cream and other menu items. Through taking orders, handling payments, maintaining a clean and organized work area, restocking supplies, you'll be helping create a welcoming experience for every guest.

Responsibilities:

• Greet guests promptly and professionally with a friendly attitude.
• Scoop ice cream, prepare milkshakes, and other menu items to order
• Engage with guests, suggest flavors & samples, and answer questions about the menu.
• Process card transactions accurately in our cashless system
• Keep the front counter and work area clean and organized
• Restock ice cream parlor supplies and inventory as needed
• Assist with any other opening or closing duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Must be punctual, reliable, and ready to work in a family-friendly setting
• Valid Food Handler’s License (required before the start date)
• Positive attitude and strong communication skills
• Previous food service or customer service experience preferred
• Comfortable working on your feet and lifting up to 25 lbs
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends (except Sundays)
• $12 per hour
