Ice Cream Maintenance Technician (Ben & Jerry's) Waterbury VT

Base Pay rate $28.30 - $32.40 per hour with an additional $3.25 shift differential and $0.75 shift adjustment for the 12-hour assignment | Weekly Pay Periods

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

The Maintenance Technician I / II will maintain, monitor, and repair facilities and manufacturing equipment to ensure their reliable and safe operation.

  1. Plan, perform, and oversee preventive maintenance on equipment.
  2. Conduct routine system evaluations of mechanical equipment, identifying performance trends or issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  3. Resolve equipment malfunctions by diagnosing breakdowns, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions.
  4. Design and modify equipment to improve process performance.
  5. Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations on projects.
  6. Participate in project teams with Engineering, R&D, contractors, and vendors to introduce new processes or equipment.
  7. Create procedures and manuals for preventive maintenance of process systems and equipment.
  8. Ensure adherence to GMPs and safety policies during projects.
  9. Monitor safety practices among contractors working on-site.
  10. Engage in WCM methodology development and participation.
  11. Develop and deliver training modules.
  12. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Note: There will be exposure to allergens such as dairy, eggs, nuts, coconut, peanuts, wheat (gluten), soy, and cinnamon.

What You’ll Need To Succeed
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Welding and fabrication skills are highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulatory codes for compliance.
  • Basic project management skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Experience with maintenance shop tools and machinery.
  • Willingness to work on the manufacturing floor, exposed to mechanical operations and cleaning solutions.
  • Basic computer skills, including email and MS Excel, and access to work orders.
  • Ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs.
