Job Summary

The Ice Cream Cart Attendant is responsible for receiving money from and disbursing money to customers, while maintaining a high level of customer service at all times.

Compensation

Amount: $17.50 USD Hourly

Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Identify items and corresponding cost of items; tabulate bills quickly and accurately using cash register, calculator, or other pricing equipment.
  • Issue receipts, refunds, credit, or change due to customers accurately.
  • Maintain cash register and contents within.
  • Turn in cash drawer and sales reconciliation at shift's end.
  • Greet customers entering the unit with a smile; answer questions and provide information on products, promotions, and policies. Thank each customer.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly cash station area; stock and maintain sales area with supplies and products.
  • Keep the retail operation neat and clean.
  • Be aware of safety issues and report them immediately to your manager.
Skill and Knowledge Requirements
  • Partial High School education; High School Diploma/G.E.D. preferred.
  • Mathematical skills.
  • Excellent sanitation habits.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and attend to guests with high service standards.
  • Ability to pass cash handling training.
  • Problem sensitivity and the ability to recognize and communicate issues to management.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Moving about on foot; frequent movements within the unit. Ability to bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height.
  • Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 10 lbs. regularly; 10-15 lbs. frequently; up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
  • Enduring temperature extremes indoors/outdoors.
  • Reading and writing documents in English.
  • Clear speech and understanding of customer and co-worker speech in English.
  • Constant verbal communication in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical presence in the unit to perform duties.
  • Ability to stand for the entire workday.
Equipment Used
  • Knowledge of cash register/computer used in the unit.
