Job summary

Breck School in Golden Valley, MN seeks a Maintenance Technician to support daily operations of the Anderson Ice Arena and campus facilities. You will handle ice maintenance, mechanical systems, snow removal, event setup, and preventative maintenance, contributing to a clean, safe, and high-functioning environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The role requires flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to switch between arena and campus needs.

Qualifications

College degree preferred or previous experience with on the job training.
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate machinery (e.g., Zamboni, mowers).
Experience or comfort working with both mechanical and electrical systems.
Must be able to lift 50–100 lbs, work at heights, and perform physical tasks in all seasons.

Responsibilities

Facilities Maintenance & Repair: respond to work orders campus-wide, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and lighting.
Mechanical Systems & Equipment Operation: safely operate and maintain equipment (ice resurfacer, edgers, mowers, etc.).
Grounds & Seasonal Support: assist with lawn/landscape tasks and snow/ice removal across campus.
Customer Service & Campus Support: serve as a friendly, solution-oriented contact for community members using facilities.
