Job summary

Marshall County Hospital District in Benton, KY is seeking a Certified Inpatient/Outpatient Coder to assign ICD-10 and CPT codes for all discharges and outpatient records in a timely, accurate manner.

The coder will use the 3M Code-finder and CPSI system, ensuring correct DRGs, discharge disposition, admission type, and physician entries; knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy, with strong typing and computer skills, preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Experience with typing and computer skills.
• Inpatient/outpatient coding knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10 diagnosis and CPT codes for Inpatient discharges and Outpatient records.
• Ensure codes are entered and sequenced correctly in CPSI within seven days of discharge.
• Verify DRGs for Medicare Inpatient discharges and discharge disposition accuracy.
• Enter and list physicians correctly with attending listed first.
