Job summary

Froehling & Robertson, Inc. seeks a field tester to perform complex inspections of construction materials and verify conformance to plans and specifications.

The role includes field testing of soil, asphalt, and concrete, with detailed reports, site condition evaluations, and communication with clients and project teams. Travel to job sites is required and a valid driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• ICC Certifications in soils, structural masonry, or reinforced concrete are required.
• Or an Engineering Intern (EI) with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• ACI Concrete Field Technician Grade 1.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and safety rules.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing of soil, asphalt, and concrete.
• Prepare detailed field reports with test results and observations.
• Perform basic lab tests on soil and concrete and report results.
• Evaluate site conditions and provide recommendations.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and staff about construction issues.
