Job summary

Froehling & Robertson, Inc. is seeking a field materials tester to perform complex field testing and inspection of construction materials to verify conformance with plans and specifications. The role involves soil, asphalt, and concrete testing, report writing, and site condition evaluations.

Ideal candidates hold ICC certifications or are EI with experience, plus ACI Field Technician Grade 1. Travel to job sites is required; strong communication and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• ICC Certifications in soils, structural masonry, or reinforced concrete are required.
• Or an Engineering Intern (EI) with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• ACI Concrete Field Technician Grade 1.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing through routine reports and correspondence.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills both oral and written.
• Must be able to work independently and within teams to achieve goals.
• Requires a valid, clean driver’s license, travel to job sites.”

• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 70 lbs. on a continual basis in all weather conditions.
• Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record.
• Requires a valid, clean driver’s license, as travel to job sites is required.
• Must continue to maintain a safe driving record and valid driver’s license to fulfill travel requirements of this position.
