Inspectors will perform construction inspections on a variety of residential, commercial, industrial, and transportation projects. Experience with New Mexico adopted building codes is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of ICC Soil, Concrete, and Reinforced Special Inspector experience.
• Familiarity with NM building codes and standards.
• Ability to prepare clear daily reports and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections to verify construction adheres to codes and approved plans.
• Inspect soils, asphalt, and reinforced concrete with qualified testing.
• Verify compliance with designs and project documents.
• Read and interpret code requirements for complex projects.
• Maintain concise records of inspection activities.
• Review engineering documents and participate in meetings with managers and clients.
• Interface with Project Managers, Engineers, and clients on site.

Inspectors will perform construction inspections on a variety of residential, commercial, industrial, and transportation projects. Experience working with New Mexico adopted building codes is highly preferred.

In addition to statewide projects, NV5 is actively hiring ICC Inspectors for ongoing work at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), one of the nation's premier scientific and research facilities.

This is a unique opportunity to join a long-term program expected to continue through 2028 and beyond, providing exceptional project stability and career growth. Inspectors assigned to LANL should be prepared to stay overnight in the Los Alamos area during the work week.

Responsibilities

• ACI and ICC-qualified to provide materials testing on soils, asphalt, and reinforced concrete, with additional qualifications such as structural steel, fabricated structural steel, fireproofing, architectural, and mechanical.
• Perform inspections to verify construction is completed in adherence with approved codes, laws, ordinances, regulations, and standards.
• Verify that construction complies with approved plans.
• Read, research, and objectively interpret code requirements.
• Maintain clear, concise, and comprehensive records related to inspection activities.
• Review complex engineering documents to ensure construction compliance.
• Interface with Project Managers, Engineers, and clients through participation in project meetings and daily site interaction.

Requirements

• 3+ years of ICC Soil, Concrete, and Reinforced Special Inspector experience
• Familiarity with the International Building Code and ASTM, AASHTO, and ACI standards for testing and inspections.
• Must be a motivated individual who can follow directions.
• Prepare daily reports for submission to the QC Manager.
• A valid Driver's license and reliable vehicle.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
