Qualifications

• Proven knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws, codes and ordinances relating to building construction.
• Understanding of safety standards, testing procedures and methods of construction.
• Ability to read and interpret building plans and codes with good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect new buildings, additions and alterations for code compliance.
• Explain complex building issues to public, contractors, designers, and owners.
• Identify and solve building problems and advise on code requirements.
• Read and interpret various codes and apply enforcement with impartiality.
• Prepare correction notices and inspection reports.
