Job summary

Ida Claire is seeking an experienced bartender to provide friendly, knowledgeable service while maintaining the restaurant's standards for quality and hospitality. You will set up, stock, and maintain a clean bar, craft cocktails, and assist guests with menu questions and dietary needs in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should have prior bartending experience, be able to work extended shifts, and hold valid Food Handler and TABC certifications.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Previous bartending experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift at least 50 pounds.
• Must maintain current Food Handler and TABC certifications.
• Follow sanitation procedures and regulations for alcohol service.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and interact with guests and coworkers in a friendly, professional, and genuine manner.
• Set up and break down the bar according to established procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked bar throughout each shift.
• Prepare cocktails, beverages, garnishes, mixers, syrups, and other bar items according to Ida Claire recipes.
• Maintain knowledge of menus and continually develop product knowledge.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently
• Support the restaurant team by delivering, placing, and removing food and beverages from tables when needed.
• Pre-bus and manicure tables throughout the restaurant.
• Communicate questions or concerns to management promptly.
• Work collaboratively with coworkers to create a positive team environment.
• Complete opening and closing responsibilities including cleaning and sanitizing the bar.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Welcome and interact with guests and coworkers in a friendly, professional, and genuine manner.
• Arrive on time and ready to work for all scheduled shifts. Maintain proper uniform and appearance standards while in work areas.
• Set up and break down the bar according to established procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked bar throughout each shift.
• Prepare cocktails, beverages, garnishes, mixers, syrups, and other bar items according to Ida Claire recipes and standards.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the food, beverage, liquor, beer, and wine menus and continually develop product knowledge.
• Assist guests with menu questions, recommendations, dietary concerns, and other requests.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently according to company standards.
• Support the entire restaurant team by properly delivering, placing, and removing food and beverages from tables when needed.
• Pre-bus and manicure tables throughout the restaurant, not just within your assigned area.
• Communicate questions, guest concerns, equipment issues, and other operational needs to the management team in a timely manner.
• Work collaboratively with coworkers and management to create a positive, enthusiastic, and supportive team environment.
• Complete all opening and closing responsibilities, including cleaning and sanitizing the bar and workstations.
• Set up and restock the bar and service areas to ensure the next shift is prepared for success.
• Follow proper sanitation procedures and all applicable regulations regarding the sale and service of alcohol.
• Participate in continuing education and training opportunities.
• Maintain beverage inventory at proper serving temperatures and restock the service bar with liquor, beer, wine, soft drinks, mixers, fruit, glassware, and necessary equipment.
• Assist with washing, polishing, organizing, and restocking glassware for both the bar and restaurant.
• Maintain accurate records of spills, PR comps, and other required bar documentation.
• Clean and properly maintain all equipment and utensils necessary to perform the job.
• Immediately report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to a supervisor.
• Maintain complete knowledge of Ida Claire's food and beverage menus, including the proper preparation and presentation of all cocktails and beverages according to established recipes and specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Previous bartending experience in a high-volume restaurant environment preferred.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift at least 50 pounds.
• Must be able to safely and properly use knives and other equipment necessary to perform required tasks.
• Must maintain current Food Handler and TABC certifications.
• Must follow all required sanitation procedures and regulations governing the sale and service of alcohol.
• Demonstrate a genuine passion for hospitality, teamwork, and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure, organization, and attention to detail.
