Job summary

Vermont Information Processing seeks an IBMi Engineer III to join our Infrastructure team. The role focuses on maintaining highly available IBM i systems, storage, virtualization, and automation to support mission-critical environments.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in IBM i, strong storage and networking knowledge, and a proactive approach to reliability and operational excellence in a 24x7 setting.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience supporting IBM i platforms in an enterprise environment.
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of storage, SAN, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery planning.

Responsibilities

Manage, monitor, and maintain IBM i systems and related infrastructure.
Support storage, SAN, and virtualization technologies, including VIOS and VMware.
Develop automation solutions and scripting to improve efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and security.
Participate in upgrades, patching, and incident responses.
