Job summary
Unisys is seeking an IBM MQ System Administrator to lead clustering, MFT, and routine MQ maintenance in a distributed environment. The role emphasizes upgrading MQ versions, scripting automation in PowerShell and Linux, and building robust monitoring solutions to ensure message flow reliability.
The ideal candidate will diagnose MQRC errors, tune performance, and collaborate with application teams to implement MQ best practices, security controls, and enterprise-grade monitoring.
Qualifications
- Experience designing, configuring, and supporting IBM MQ clusters.
- Experience with IBM MQ Managed File Transfer setup and monitoring.
- Patching, log/file management, and performance tuning of MQ.
- Plan and execute MQ version upgrades with multi-node clusters.
- Automation via PowerShell and Linux shell scripting for MQ tasks.
- Develop MQ monitoring scripts and troubleshoot MQRC errors.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and support IBM MQ clusters.
- Set up and monitor IBM MQ MFT and resource monitors.
- Perform MQ maintenance, backups, patching and tuning.
- Plan multi-node MQ upgrades and validate post-upgrade state.
- Develop automation scripts for deployments and health checks.
- Create and maintain MQ monitoring and troubleshooting workflows.
- Collaborate with application teams on MQ best practices.
