Kreative Technologies is seeking an IBM Database Administrator to install, maintain and support IBM Db2 databases remotely. You will ensure databases are secure, available and performant for the applications that depend on them.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented and calm under pressure, comfortable handling routine maintenance and quickly responding to database issues while collaborating with developers and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/IT or related field.
• 3+ years administering IBM Db2 databases.
• Experience with Db2 LUW or z/OS, and strong SQL skills.
• Strong shell scripting and backup/recovery experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade IBM Db2 databases.
• Monitor health, capacity and performance of databases.
• Manage backup, recovery, and DR procedures.
• Control user access and security settings.
• Tune SQL and database settings to improve performance.
• Support developers with schema changes and deployments.
• Maintain database documentation and runbooks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Overview:
Kreative Technologies is looking for an IBM Database Administrator to install, maintain and support IBM Db2 databases. You will keep databases secure, available and performing well for the applications that depend on them.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented and calm under pressure. You should be comfortable handling routine maintenance and responding quickly to database issues.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Installs, configures, patches and upgrades IBM Db2 databases.
• Monitors database health, capacity and performance.
• Manages backup, recovery and disaster recovery procedures.
• Controls user access and applies database security settings.
• Tunes SQL and database settings to improve performance.
• Supports developers with schema changes and deployments.
• Maintains database documentation and runbooks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience administering IBM Db2 databases.
• Experience with Db2 on Linux, UNIX or Windows (LUW) or z/OS.
• Strong SQL and shell scripting skills.
• Experience with backup, recovery and performance tuning.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Continually required to use common office equipment including but not limited to computers, phones, scanners and printers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• IBM Certified Database Administrator – Db2 certification.
• Experience with high availability tools such as HADR.
• Experience supporting federal government contracts.

Compensation: $68,843 – $76,492 per year
