Job summary

Merck is seeking a Growth and Improvement minded Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Inflammatory Bowel Disease Immunology to advance strategic priorities. The role involves scientific exchange, collaboration with SLs, and support for investigator-sponsored studies and company-sponsored trials.

The candidate will liaise between the scientific community and Merck to enhance understanding of scientific foundations and goals, while adhering to GMSA strategy, SOPs, and regulatory

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD required.
• Three years of Immunology (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) experience beyond the degree program.
• Principled verbal and written communications.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and other relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Engages in scientific exchange with national and regional SLs to provide approved medical information.
• Maintains ongoing scientific contact with SLs and responds to inquiries.
• Supports research initiatives, investigator-sponsored studies, and site initiatives when applicable.
• Gathers insights to inform company scientific priorities and therapeutic strategies.
• Represents Merck in scientific congresses and meetings.
