Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN seeks an RN IBCLC Lactation Consultant for Mother Baby Obstetrics. This part-time night role provides inpatient care for mother-baby pairs, supports breastfeeding goals, and works as a consultant and educator within the obstetric team.

The ideal candidate will hold IBCLC certification and RN licensure, with a bachelor's in nursing and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• IBCLC certification required; RN licensure in good standing.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct inpatient care for mother-baby pairs and neonates.
• Develops and delivers childbirth, newborn care, postpartum, and breastfeeding education materials and classes for expectant/new parents.
• Develops, implements, and revises preceptorships, in-service programs, workshops and continuing education on breastfeeding for staff and students.
• Manages the breast pump rental station and coordinates education materials.
• Oversees workflow in the perinatal education department and collaborates with nursing and medical staff.
