Job summary

Greif is seeking an entry-level assembly operator for the 2nd shift (3:00 pm–11:30 pm, Monday–Friday). You will inspect bottles, set up equipment, and support changeovers while maintaining quality and safety standards. The role emphasizes following directions, teamwork, and the ability to learn production machinery quickly. This position offers competitive pay and day-one benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Receive bottles from the blow molder and inspect for contamination and weight.
• Install metal heads, perform leak tests and plug installation.
• Verify the quality of work in process and finished goods.
• Assist in changeovers and grind flash; reject defective parts.
• Perform housekeeping and inventory counts; operate pallet jack.
• Ensure data entry processes are followed and maintain safety practices.

Job description

Role Overview

Under direct supervision, performs entry-level routine activities associated with various types of assembly machine operation and/or setup. 2nd Shift: 3pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Receives the bottle from the blow molder, performs a visual inspection, removes the remaining flashes, checks the bottle for contamination and weight.
• Installs metal heads on bottles, performs leak tests and installs plugs.
• Verifies the quality of all work in process and all finished goods.
• Assists in changeovers.
• Grinds flash and rejects parts.
• Performs housekeeping duties such as sweeping, storing product, materials, tooling, and supplies.
• Counts inventory of component parts as needed.
• Uses Pallet Jack to transport product to designated area.
• Ensures data entry processes are implemented.
• Maintains safety observances, including use of PPE, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good daily safety practices and habits.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and up to 2 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge & Skills

• Willingness to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Ability to interpret and translate job specifications for production machineries.
• Fundamental understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.

Compensation

The pay for this position is $27.55 per hour. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
