We are seeking an IAM Project Manager with strong hands on knowledge of Identity and Access Management, Microsoft Active Directory, domain and local accounts, CyberArk, and IAM governance. This role will manage IAM initiatives from planning through implementation, remediation, and documentation while working closely with technical teams, security leadership, and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate understands the technical details behind identity environments and can translate those details into project plans, requirements, risks, remediation strategies, and executive-level communication. This is not a purely administrative project management role; strong technical understanding of IAM environments is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage IAM projects involving Active Directory, domain accounts, local accounts, privileged accounts, service accounts, and access governance.
  • Coordinate IAM initiatives from requirements gathering and planning through implementation, remediation, testing, and closure.
  • Work with infrastructure, security, application, and business teams to identify and remediate identity and access risks.
  • Manage projects involving Microsoft Active Directory domains, including users, groups, permissions, privileged accounts, service accounts, and local accounts.
  • Coordinate CyberArk initiatives involving privileged account onboarding, vaulting, access controls, credential management, and privileged access workflows.
  • Help establish and maintain appropriate controls for domain and local administrator accounts, service accounts, and other privileged identities.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, action items, and status reporting for IAM initiatives.
  • Coordinate remediation efforts involving users, accounts, groups, entitlements, privileged access, and permissions.
  • Work with IAM and security teams to establish sustainable processes for identity lifecycle management, access reviews, and privileged access management.
  • Gather and document technical and business requirements for IAM solutions and enhancements.
  • Coordinate data collection and analysis from systems such as Active Directory, CyberArk, ServiceNow, SIEM platforms, and other enterprise data sources.
  • Track project deliverables and ensure IAM controls and remediation activities are properly documented and evidenced.
  • Maintain project documentation, procedures, runbooks, requirements, process flows, and implementation plans.
  • Prepare status updates, risk summaries, and project presentations for senior management and security leadership.
  • Communicate technical IAM issues and risks in a clear manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Identify project dependencies, risks, and potential roadblocks and drive them toward resolution.
  • Coordinate change management activities and ensure IAM changes follow appropriate governance and approval processes.
  • Support audits by coordinating evidence collection and ensuring IAM processes and controls are properly documented.
  • Work with IAM engineering and security teams to identify opportunities to improve access controls, privileged access management, and identity governance.
  • Help define future-state IAM processes and recommend improvements based on industry best practices.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and third-party vendors when required.
  • Provide periodic support during evening or weekend change windows when required by project or customer schedules.
Required Technical Background
  • 5+ years of experience in IAM, identity security, systems administration, cybersecurity, or a closely related technical environment.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, including:
  • Domain accounts
  • Local accounts
  • Security groups
  • Group Policy
  • Administrative/privileged accounts
  • Service accounts
  • Access permissions
  • Hands-on or strong working knowledge of CyberArk and Privileged Access Management (PAM).
  • Understanding of Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) concepts, including access requests, approvals, provisioning/deprovisioning, access reviews, and entitlement management.
  • Strong understanding of privileged access, service accounts, domain accounts, and local accounts and the security risks associated with each.
  • Experience working with IAM/security technologies such as CyberArk, SailPoint, BeyondTrust, Centrify, Netwrix/Stealthbits, Varonis, or Oracle Identity Manager.
  • Experience managing projects involving IAM implementations, remediation programs, access controls, or security initiatives.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to analyze, manipulate, reconcile, and report on large sets of IAM/account data.
  • Ability to work with spreadsheets containing users, accounts, groups, entitlements, permissions, remediation status, and project tracking information.
  • Experience with data collection and reporting from enterprise systems such as ServiceNow, Active Directory, Splunk, or other data sources.
  • Understanding of Windows and/or Unix environments and how identity and access are managed across those platforms.
  • Experience documenting IAM controls, processes, procedures, and remediation activities.
Project Management Responsibilities
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and milestones.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules.
  • Manage project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and decisions.
  • Coordinate technical resources and business stakeholders across multiple teams.
  • Track remediation activities and ensure owners meet established deadlines.
  • Facilitate project meetings and communicate action items and decisions.
  • Provide regular project status reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Escalate risks and blockers appropriately.
