Job summary

SNHU is seeking an Identity and Access Management Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support complex IAM solutions such as SailPoint and Azure AD. You will collaborate with application owners, analysts, and IAM Architects to onboard applications, define roles, develop entitlement workflows, and ensure secure access control.

This role combines software engineering with IAM practice to improve platforms and automate access processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a similar technical field.
  • Equivalent experience in lieu of a degree acceptable: Yes
  • SailPoint Certified Identity Cloud Engineer
  • Expertise in relational databases and SQL
  • Experience implementing and administering SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC) and related IAM tools
  • Hands-on experience configuring SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC)
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and SSO provisioning via SCIM

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) operations, automation, scripting, and configuration-as-code.
  • Onboard applications with roles mapped to authorization models (RBAC, ABAC, PBA) and design entitlement workflows.
  • Install new IAM functionality per the roadmap and audit IAM processes for security compliance.
  • Serve as SME for IAM technologies across projects with identity components.
  • Collaborate with DBAs, admins, developers, and testers to troubleshoot and optimize IAM performance.
  • Provide guidance on IAM configurations, deployments, and integration with IT partners.
  • Create and maintain documentation, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge articles.
  • Provide Tier 3 support including incident response and root-cause analysis.
  • Participate in cross-training and contribute to IAM metrics and reporting.

The opportunity

The Identity and Access Management Engineer designs, implements, maintains, and supports a variety of complex IAM solutions at . These solutions include SailPoint, Azure Active Directory, Federated Authentication Services, Privileged Identity Management, and the underlying technology that supports them. The Identity and Access Management Engineer is an important member of the IAM practice who works with internal and external partners to deploy and manage advanced technology which drives excellent user experiences while following security architecture best practices. This role combines software engineering and IAM experience to improve IAM platforms, automate main access processes, and ensure a and auditable approach to user access at SNHU.

What you'll do:
  • Manage the day-to-day functions of the Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) solution including implementation of automation, scripting, configuration-as-code, and administration to extend platform capabilities.
  • Work with application owners, business analysts, and IAM Architects to onboard applications. Perform activities associated with application onboarding including:
    • Configuration of tool for new applications
    • Development of roles, mapped to authorization models (RBAC, ABAC, PBA.)
    • Develop workflows for entitlement assignment.
    • Development of access request flows.
  • Install new functionality on the IAM platforms and tools as identified by the IAM roadmap.
  • Be a subject matter expert for IAM technologies and processes on projects with identity components.
  • Work closely with DBAs, application administrators, developers, testers, and others to troubleshoot issues, address design challenges, and improve performance.
  • Provide guidance on capabilities, configuration, debugging, deployment, platform updates and other relevant information to IT partners requiring IAM integration.
  • Develop high-quality system configuration and process design documentation, knowledge base articles, troubleshooting guides, operating procedures, application integration documentation and other materials.
  • Provide tier 3/escalation level support including incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
  • Participate in cross-training with other IAM team members and solution administrators.
  • Assist with reporting and metrics.
  • Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential functions of this role.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What we're looking for:
  • Experience should include progressively responsible software engineering roles in large-scale, complex IT environments and at least 3 years of hands‑on IAM experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a similar technical field.
  • Equivalent experience in lieu of a degree acceptable: Yes
  • SailPoint Certified Identity Cloud Engineer
  • Expertise in relational databases and SQL
  • Experience implementing and administering SailPoint Identity Security Cloud, SailPoint NERM/SecZetta, Azure Federation Services or other industry leading IAM platforms and tools.
  • Hands‑on, production experience configuring and administering SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC); candidates should be able to operate independently within the platform with minimal oversight.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, including configuring SSO integrations and provisioning via SCIM (System for Cross‑domain Identity Management).
  • Expertise developing troubleshooting processes, methodologies, and standards for IAM.
  • Experience with information security, technology, and experience fundamentals in the identity and access management domain.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical requirements and security controls to partners.

The annual pay range for this position is $85,563.00 - $136,928.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $94,548.00 - $127,918.00.
