Job description

About the Israeli American Council:

The mission of the Israeli-American Council (IAC) is to build an engaged and united Israeli-American community that strengthens the Israeli and Jewish identity of our next generation, the American Jewish community, and the bond between the peoples of the United States and the state of Israel.

Job Purpose:

The Community Engagement ("CEM") will work to expand IAC’s community impact and strategic investments in his/her region. The CEM will be responsible for organizing and managing programs & events, representing the organization, and increasing IAC’s awareness in that region. The CEM will recruit, maintain connections with participants, and manage operational aspects of the Eitanim program. This is a 15 hours per week position, and he/she will report to the Regional Director.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
  1. Program planning and implementation – Responsible for implementing the Eitanim program for South Florida area students; marketing the program through social media, flyers, school presentations, collaborations with relevant partners, and more.
  2. Facilitate program sessions, including attendance records and post-session summaries.
  3. Event Management – Plan, coordinate, and manage community events, including hackathons, demo days, and open houses, to meet IAC South Florida goals.
  4. Assist in coordinating with guest experts and mentors, including their preparations and follow-up tasks.
  5. Submit session reviews and feedback to the Eitanim National Director.
  6. Participate in all IAC Eitanim National events and staff training, including annual training, facilitator’s forums, and national summits.
  7. Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for regional activities.
  8. Collaborate closely with the regional team to ensure successful program execution.
  9. Represent IAC professionally within the community.
  10. Develop connections with local organizations and community leaders.
  11. Build and maintain an active community, engaging with community supporters on social platforms daily.
  12. Manage regional calendar and data reporting related to volunteers, members, contacts, and outreach efforts.
  13. Establish and support volunteer systems and develop relationships with Israeli-American Jewish organizations.
  14. Coordinate cross-location and cross-organizational events when applicable.
  15. Participate in staff meetings, training, and national conferences.
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong social skills and experience in community building.
  • Experience in group facilitation and informal education.
  • Proficiency in social media marketing and PR.
  • Experience working with teens and in public speaking.
  • Deep connection to both Israeli and American identities, with knowledge of their cultures, histories, and conflicts.
  • Excellent technological skills, including Microsoft Office, Zoom, and social media platforms.
  • Highly organized, efficient, and interpersonal skills.
  • Operational and administrative competence.
  • Fluency in English and Hebrew, both written and spoken.
