Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Senior Staff Systems Engineer for an I&T Lead role in the Intelligence Systems Division Engineering organization, supporting a program out of Fairfax, VA or Morrisville, NC. This onsite role does not support remote or hybrid work.

Required SCI clearance and STEM degrees with extensive experience in software testing, V&V, and ground system deployment; notable skills include Agile, Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance at time of application
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with required year level indicated
• 14 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's (STEM)
• 12 years of relevant experience with a Master's (STEM)
• 10 years of relevant experience with a Ph.D. (STEM)
• Ability to work toward program goals/objectives with minimal guidance
• Ability to lead a geographically dispersed, diverse team in a fast-paced software testing environment
• Experience with ground system software deployment, integration and testing in complex, layered, cloud-based environments
• Experience with SW Requirement Verification & Validation (V&V) including manual and automated testing
• Familiarity with requirements decomposition and verification methods
• Familiarity with Interface Control Documents (ICDs) in testing
• Ability to brief higher management, customers, and outside organizations clearly
• Define and communicate test strategy, drive progress and remove roadblocks
• Time management and prioritization aligned with program milestones
• Development and review of software-intensive test plans & procedures
• Troubleshooting and root cause analysis to generate detailed problem reports
• Familiarity with Agile processes
• Familiarity with Confluence, Jira and Bitbucket
• Familiarity with Jenkins CI/CD pipelines

Responsibilities

• Deploy, integrate and test ground system software in complex cloud-based environments
• Conduct verification and validation of software with manual and automated testing
• Define test strategy and communicate it clearly to stakeholders
• Prioritize tasks to meet program objectives/milestones
• Create and review software-intensive test plans & procedures
• Identify and troubleshoot software issues and drive rapid resolution
• Apply Agile processes and use CI/CD tools like Jenkins
