Job summary

AmSty is seeking an Instrument and Electrical Technician for the Hanging Rock polystyrene plant in Ironton, Ohio. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing instrument and electrical systems, with hands-on work across PLC/DCS hardware and process instrumentation.

The candidate will perform calibration, preventative maintenance, and support plant operations while complying with safety practices. Occasional overtime and outdoor work are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Five years of experience as an instrument or electrical technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Two-year craft degree and electrical license preferred.
• Includes outdoor work, sometimes in inclement weather.
• Must be able to climb stairs and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and diagnoses instrument and electrical problems and selects and implements corrective actions.
• Identifies and repairs DCS and PLC hardware problems.
• Troubleshoots and programs PLC software.
• Calibrates process instruments and maintains instrument/electrical testing equipment.
• Follows plant safety and maintenance procedures and performs preventative maintenance.
