Job description

Overview

The Instrument and Electrical Technician (I&E Tech) will be responsible for maintenance of instruments and electrical systems in the Marietta manufacturing plant. This position offers candidates the opportunity to become a team member on a close knit team working in a fast paced challenging work environment.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Responsible for working as an electrically skilled person as defined in the Electrical Work Practices. Longer term as this person gains experience he/she will be expected to perform the role of facility representative as defined in the electrical work practices
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses instrument and electrical problems and selects and implements corrective actions. Removes and replaces components at the board level
  • Identifies DCS and PLC hardware problems and replaces cards
  • Troubleshoots and programs PLC software
  • Calibrates process instruments according to applicable standards. Operates and maintains instrument and electrical testing equipment
  • Maintains electrical hardware typically up to 480 volts
  • Plans, prioritizes and schedules instrument and electrical maintenance with supervision and technician input
  • Designs and implements corrective actions identified in incident reports and work orders
  • Maintains and completes instrument and electrical system preventative maintenance activities. Identifies and defines required procedures and inspection frequency
  • Generates and evaluates reliability data from the maintenance database (SAP). Determines areas of focus for reliability/cost reduction projects
  • Requests/performs failure analysis as needed
  • Designs instruments loops and electrical systems. Specifies, requisitions and installs instruments and electrical components (measurements of flow, temperature, pressure)
  • Serves as electrical subject matter expert on capital project reviews
  • Follows and ensures compliance of all plant safety and maintenance procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by the Plant Leader

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma is required
  • Two years of experience as a Class A instrument or electrical technician in a manufacturing environment
  • Also preferred - two year craft degree and electrical license
  • Includes working outdoors in inclement weather (sometimes for an extended period)
  • Requires climbing stairs
  • This job may require lifting up to 50 lbs
Other Information
  • This position is located in Marietta, OH. Relocation assistance is not authorized for this position
  • Grade and salary level offered to the successful candidate will be appropriate to the job duties and commensurate with the candidate’s experience
  • The work schedule for this position is day shift (8 hour days). Call ins on nights and weekends is part of the position. The successful candidate is expected to work overtime, normally less than 15%
  • Relocation is not available with this position.
