Job summary

Targa Resources in Midland, TX seeks an experienced Electrical/Instrumentation Technician to support plant processing equipment. You will troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems, read schematics and P&ID drawings, and perform preventive maintenance on a range of voltages from 12 VDC to 4160 VAC.

The role requires flexibility for overtime, callouts, and rotating shifts, with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years of related work experience.
• Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Interpersonal communication skills to interface with teams, personnel, and vendors.
• Execute all maintenance activities related to pipeline maintenance and operation.
• Strong work ethic with ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, with call-outs and shifts as needed.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in changing climate conditions.
• Able to work in close quarters (kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, standing).
• Follow PPE guidelines (eye protection, footwear, Nomex).
• Regular and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Understand electrical and instrumentation equipment used in plant processing.
• Troubleshoot and repair compressor panel control wiring and devices.
• Troubleshoot electrical motor starter panels and motor issues.
• Read electrical schematics and P&ID drawings.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems in processing plants and field boosters.
• Work with 12 VDC to 4160 VAC systems.
• Follow PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Collaborate with different company groups on related projects.
