Job summary

Energy Transfer LP in Louisiana seeks an instrumentation and electrical technician to support construction, plant facilities and field operations. You will repair, install, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on control systems, SCADA, and related equipment across gas and liquid facilities and pipelines.

The role requires reading drawings, adhering to DOT and PSM standards, and mentoring staff while coordinating with contractors. On-call duties and occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience levels vary by job level: 0–2 years (Level C), 2–4 years (Level B), 4+ years (Level A).
• Valid driver's license with safe driving record
• Ability to maintain motor controls, relay logic, RTUs and I&E devices
• Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook and Word
• Experience with troubleshooting/control software: InTouch Wonderware, FactoryTalk, RSLogix, DeltaV
• Knowledge of NEC and OSHA 1910 as it relates to electrical systems
• DOT 192/193/195 testing and documentation knowledge

Responsibilities

• Install, diagnose, and maintain SCADA systems and field equipment components.
• Maintain pneumatic and intelligent instruments, electrical distribution systems, motor control gear, and software.
• Maintain PLCs or DCS systems and related process/safety controls.
• Read and interpret manuals, standards, drawings, and P&IDs.
• Test and document plant and compressor station control and safety devices per DOT/PSM requirements.
• Participate in on-call requirements.
• Mentor and oversee less experienced staff and contractors.
• Provide accurate written and electronic reporting.
