Ellaway Blues Consulting seeks a Reliability Instrumentation Engineer to optimize instrumentation and electrical (I&E) systems across Midland plant operations in Texas. You will develop preventive maintenance plans and lead reliability programs to drive improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related discipline required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in I&E maintenance or engineering, ideally within chemical, petrochemical, or refining industries.
  • Strong background in predictive and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Hands‑on experience with process measurement instruments (flow, pressure, temperature, level, wireless).
  • Familiarity with instrument management systems (e.g., Intergraph SI) and CMMS platforms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
  • Effective communicator and team collaborator.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support reliability programs focused on instrumentation and electrical systems.
  • Develop inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance (ITPM) plans.
  • Utilize CMMS, failure analysis, and cost analysis tools to drive data-informed decisions.
  • Evaluate equipment performance, recommend upgrades, and prepare lifecycle cost analyses.
  • Maintain accurate records for specifications, calibration, validations, and maintenance history.
  • Support compliance with relevant standards and safety systems, including SIS and IEC 61511.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve problems and implement improvement initiatives.

We are seeking a skilled Reliability Instrumentation Engineer to support and optimize instrumentation and electrical (I&E) systems across plant operations. Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Split between office and plant environments; some exposure to outdoor conditions.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE and perform fieldwork.
  • Ability to push/pull and lift up to 25 lbs., and perform bending, stooping, and kneeling as needed.
