Qualifications

• Experience executing brownfield capital projects in operating facilities.
• Experience in instrumentation and electrical engineering for new and existing facilities.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including Operations, Maintenance, Process Engineering, Project Management, and contractors.
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining schedule commitments.
• Experience working with engineering contractors and reviewing engineering deliverables.
• Experience supporting project delivery, commissioning, and startup activities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working within highly regulated environments and applying Management of Change processes.

This opportunity is suited to an engineering professional with strong brownfield and greenfield facilities experience across instrumentation, electrical power systems, and process automation. The role focuses on supporting facility modification projects in operating environments, with responsibility for safe design, construction support, commissioning, and stakeholder engagement across multidisciplinary teams. This position offers the chance to contribute to a high volume of capital projects while helping maintain reliability, safety, and operational performance.

Required Experience

• Experience executing brownfield capital projects in operating facilities.
• Experience in instrumentation and electrical engineering for new and existing facilities, including design, installation, startup, and commissioning.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including Operations, Maintenance, Process Engineering, Project Management, and contractors.
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining schedule commitments.
• Experience working with engineering contractors and reviewing engineering deliverables.
• Experience supporting project delivery, commissioning, and startup activities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working within highly regulated environments and applying Management of Change processes.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of instrumentation and electrical engineering for upstream facilities design, construction, and commissioning activities.
• Ability to develop instrumentation, control, and electrical discipline deliverables such as control philosophies, Cause and Effect diagrams, P&IDs, area classification drawings, and load analysis.
• Skilled in electrical power distribution systems, circuit design, and rotating equipment selection including motors.
• Ability to scope, design, modify, and manage execution of electrical systems, including 480 VAC systems.
• Ability to review specifications and prepare datasheets for power system components, MCCs, 500HP motors, and UPS systems.
• Skilled in reviewing and updating field instrumentation and control valve designs.
• Ability to design, document, and implement PLC/SCADA-based process control systems from network architecture and system logic through testing, startup, and commissioning.
• Ability to define process control system data communication requirements for connectivity to end devices and other systems.
• Ability to configure process control systems in line with P&IDs, system logic diagrams, control narratives, Cause & Effect diagrams, and alarm philosophy.
• Knowledge of company and industry standards, codes, guidelines, and recommended practices related to electrical, instrumentation, and process control systems.
• Ability to participate in safety reviews such as HAZOP, HazAn, and LOPA, and support instrumented protective function design and implementation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, particularly when working with field personnel and project teams.
• Ability to oversee electrical safe work practices and support Operational Excellence behaviours in day-to-day activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong electrical power background with experience at 4.16kV and below.
• Medium voltage experience up to 25kV.
