Job summary

Pro Staff is seeking an I&E Engineer in Elwood, IL, to support electrical and instrumentation assets in a manufacturing setting. The role emphasizes reliability, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement.

The candidate will lead maintenance programs, perform fault analysis, review capital project deliverables, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance, working across maintenance, engineering, and operations teams in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience or an associate/technical degree with 7+ years.
• Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems.
• Experience troubleshooting maintenance and reliability programs.
• Familiarity with NFPA, NETA, NEMA, ANSI, IEEE and related standards.
• Experience with arc flash and coordination studies using SKM/ETAP or similar.
• Ability to read/create electrical one-lines, schematics and loop drawings.
• Chemical processing, manufacturing, or industrial plant experience preferred.
• ISA Instrumentation and NFPA 70E certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues to minimize downtime.
• Support capital projects by reviewing specifications, drawings, scopes of work, and contractor deliverables.
• Lead and participate in FMEA and RCFA activities.
• Maintain electrical system documentation, schematics, and equipment records.
• Support reliability initiatives and corrective actions for recurring issues.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, operations, contractors, and manufacturers.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.

Location: Elwood, IL

Pay: $80.00 - $88.65 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM | Hybrid (Onsite/Offsite)

Are you an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer with a strong background in industrial reliability, maintenance, and power systems? We are seeking a skilled professional to support critical electrical and instrumentation assets, improve equipment reliability, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical and instrumentation equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues to minimize downtime
