Job summary

RigUp in Wood River, IL is seeking a skilled Instrument & Electrical Designer to support design and MOC processes for refinery projects. You will create and revise I&E drawings, assist across project phases, and manage SPI migrations.

The role requires SPI knowledge, proficiency in AutoCAD and Office, and experience with refinery environments. You will mentor junior designers and perform field walk-downs as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create and revise I&E drawings throughout design and MOC processes.

Requirements:

• # years of experience in Instrument & Electrical Design
• In-depth knowledge of Instrumentation and Electrical standards, methods, and practices
• In-depth knowledge of Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI)
• Experience with migrating entire systems to SPI
• Ability to work safely in both office and refinery environments
• Ability to perform field walk-downs
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
• Strong work ethic
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• AAS in Drafting/Design or equivalent

Job Responsibilities:

• Creating and revising I&E drawings throughout the design and MOC processes
• Providing design assistance throughout all project phases
• Tracking and reporting progress for current and future SPI migration projects
• Managing SPI Database for all refinery units
• Overseeing and training less experienced Designers/Drafters in SPI usage

Software/Hardware Qualifications:

Required:

• AutoCAD (or equivalent)
• Basic computer/PC skills
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
