Job summary

ML OUTSOURCING SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED is seeking an I&E Design professional to support refinery projects, focusing on SPI migration, MOC packages, and I&E drawings. The role involves field walkdowns, database management, and training Designers/Drafters.

The ideal candidate will have an AAS in Drafting/Design and hands-on SPI experience, with strong communication and teamwork skills to operate in a high-safety refinery environment.

Qualifications

• AAS in Drafting/Design or equivalent.
• Experience in Instrument & Electrical (I&E) Design in a refinery context.
• Knowledge of Instrumentation and Electrical standards and SPI.
• Hands-on SPI experience and migration of systems to SPI.
• Experience creating/revising I&E drawings and design packages.
• Familiarity with MOC processes, SPI database management, and project progress tracking.
• Proficiency with SPI and AutoCAD (or equivalent).
• Strong computer skills and MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
• Ability to work safely in office and refinery environments and conduct field walkdowns.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise I&E drawings across design and MOC processes.

Job Overview:

Support I&E design, SPI administration, and SPI migration projects within a refinery environment, including I&E drawings, MOC/design packages, SPI database management, field walkdowns, project tracking, and Designer/Drafter training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and revise Instrument & Electrical (I&E) drawings throughout design and MOC (Management of Change) processes.
• Develop and assemble I&E design packages for construction and provide design support throughout all project phases.
• Support and execute Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) migration projects, including tracking and reporting project progress.
• Manage and maintain the SPI database across all refinery units.
• Perform field walkdowns and provide field/design support in a refinery environment.
• Oversee, guide, and train less-experienced Designers/Drafters in the use of SPI.
• Work independently and collaboratively while maintaining strong safety, communication, and work-quality standards.

Basic/Required Qualifications:

• AAS in Drafting/Design or equivalent.
• Experience in Instrument & Electrical (I&E) Design in a similar capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of Instrumentation and Electrical standards, methods, and practices.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI).
• Experience migrating entire systems to SPI.
• Experience creating/revising I&E drawings and developing design packages.
• Experience with MOC processes, SPI database management, and project progress tracking.
• Proficiency with Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) and AutoCAD or equivalent.
• Basic computer/PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to safely work in both office and refinery environments and perform field walkdowns.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills, work ethic, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in refining, petrochemical, or similar process industries.
• Experience with Falcon.
• Experience with SAP.
• Previous experience overseeing or training Designers/Drafters.
• Experience supporting SPI migration, refinery-wide SPI database administration, and I&E design activities.
