Job summary

Object Technology Solutions, Inc (OTSI) is seeking an Instrument/Communications Engineering Specialist to join our team in Overland Park, KS, or alternate sites in Denver, CO or Arlington, VA. This onsite role requires technical leadership in telecom design and systems integration across multiple disciplines.

You will design and review communications infrastructure, coordinate with BIM/CAD teams, and oversee budgets and schedules while mentoring junior staff. U.S.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting U.S. Government Agency/Department clients on projects within Architecture/Engineering, Defense Program, Design/Build, Classified, and Environmental domains.
• Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, BICSI industry standards, codes, and best practices related to ICT, low voltage, and telecommunications systems.
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems from a safety and constructability perspective.
• Strong knowledge of inside plant (ISP) cabling infrastructure, including telecommunications spaces, pathways, copper, and optical fiber cabling and connectivity.
• Experience in outside plant (OSP) design of copper and fiber optic communication systems.
• Experience in audio‑visual (AV) system design.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience designing applicable telecommunication systems.

Qualifications and Experience

• All applicants must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, which may include background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle record searches.

• Certified Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification is required.
• Certified Technology Specialist – Design (CTS‑D) certification is preferred.
• Will consider candidates with direct Federal experience who do not yet hold an RCDD but intend to sit for the exam within the next few months.
