OGE Energy Corp. is seeking engineers at Staff or Senior level to design, analyze, and coordinate new facilities and the operation of existing ones.

You will perform field investigations, develop plans and specifications, and provide reports on assigned tasks across multiple projects. The role emphasizes adherence to safety standards, compliance with codes, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues while guiding junior staff and ensuring quality in engineering

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or PE required.
  • Senior level requires approx. 5 years related engineering experience.
  • Staff level requires approx. 2 years related engineering experience; internship or drafting work may count at half rate.

JOB SUMMARY

** This job is being posted across two skill levels (Staff/Level II) and (Senior/Level III). Applicants will be considered for the higher level they qualify.**
Develops plans and specifications, performs analysis, and provides reports on assigned tasks involving design and construction of new facilities or operation and maintenance of existing facilities. Technically involved in the resolution of equipment and operational problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, performing design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
  • Complex responsibilities related to primary focus of job area. Uses best practices and in-depth business knowledge to solve complex problems and improve products or services. May adapt procedures, processes and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Prepares engineering analysis for small/routine projects to include: preliminary design, calculation, life cycle cost and equipment selection.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Prepare and interpret schematics, drawings, layouts and other visual aids.
  • Supports company safety programs and initiatives by following all EHS and Operating procedures and adhering to established design standards.
  • Assists upper level engineers as directed while developing specialized engineering skills.
  • Reviews and critiques proposed changes to engineering standards, policies and guidelines.
  • Assures that all design specifications conform to the latest national and local codes, rules and regulations.
  • Conducts surveys to gather field data.
  • Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices.
  • Provides on-the-job training to new staff.
  • Functions as quality inspector or defines quality requirements on engineering designs and projects.
  • Manages multiple projects and associated budgets, schedules and resources.
REQUIREMENTS
STAFF
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or PE And 2 years related engineering experience (which may include non-Engineer experience such as Engineering Internship, Design, Drafting, and Engineering Tech experience. This type of experience will be counted at half rate.)
SENIOR
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or PE And 5 years related engineering experience (at least 3 years as an Engineer and a maximum of 2 years related experience which may include non-Engineer experience such as Engineering Internship, Design, Drafting, and Engineering Tech experience. This type of experience will be counted at half rate.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), including Emerson Ovation, Emerson DeltaV, GE Mark VIe Aveva In-touch, and ABB 800xA platforms used for power generation, process control, and plant automation.
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and industrial automation systems, including Allen-Bradley PLC platforms.
  • Experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting instrumentation, control systems, and communication protocols, including Modbus, DNP3, OPC, and Ethernet/IP.
  • Experience with control system upgrades, commissioning, and lifecycle support for generation assets and associated balance-of-plant equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.
  • May be required to work at heights up to and exceeding thirty (30) feet, underground and in confined spaces.
  • May be required to work non-standard work schedules.
SPECIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
  • Member will not be required to drive in order to perform their job duties.
  • The operation, maintenance or oversight of critical services and infrastructure including but not limited to, electric utilities, power generation or distribution;
  • Able to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work within stringent deadlines.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with diverse personalities.
  • In depth knowledge and experience in multiple engineering initiatives.
  • Self motivated.
  • Strong project leadership skills.
  • Able to work without supervision and make independent decisions.
  • Able to communicate effectively in speech and writing with members at all levels throughout the organization and outside professionals.
  • Strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills.

SALARY RANGE

Staff: $79,643 - $106,184
Senior: $96,262 - $128,357
