Job summary

Fervo Energy offers a 12-week summer internship where you own a real project, scoped with your manager on day one and driven to completion. You’ll work side-by-side with teams building geothermal power and present your results to executives and fellow interns.

At Cape Station commissioning, you’ll help organize records, track punch lists, and analyze startup data. This is a tangible, real-world internship with a path toward full-time opportunities.

• Track punch list items and deviation closure.
• Analyze ORC startup historian data to support alarm rationalization and cleanup.
• Assist with general commissioning documentation and reporting.

Internship Overview

You won't be running coffee orders or shuffling paperwork this summer. You'll work side-by-side with the teams building the next generation of geothermal energy, tackling problems that genuinely move the business forward. At the end of the summer, you'll present your work to our executive leadership team, department leads, and fellow interns, sharing real results with a real audience. This is a real seat at the table — and a real shot at what comes next.

Position Description

Fervo Energy is developing next-generation geothermal power to deliver firm, carbon-free energy at scale. Our flagship Cape Station development in Milford, Utah is one of the largest next-generation geothermal developments in the world, and our Houston headquarters houses the engineering, commercial, and corporate teams driving Fervo's growth. You'll support Cape Station commissioning within the I&C group, helping the team organize and close out commissioning records and startup data as the plant comes online.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Rising Junior, Senior, Master's/MBA candidate wrapping up within the next year, or PhD candidate — we're building a pipeline toward full-time offers
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting to stakeholders and leadership
• Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and adapt quickly to new challenges

Preferred Qualifications

• Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering degrees preferred
• Strong organizational skills and comfort with technical documentation
• Interest in commissioning and plant startup
