Job summary

Shelter House is seeking a Hypothermia Coordinator for weekend shifts to support the temporary hypothermia program from November through April. You will set up the program space, transport participants with a Shelter House vehicle, and conduct orientations, meals distribution, and activities while reporting participant information.

You will ensure safety, document incidents, and connect participants with resources such as emergency shelter and day programs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor participant safety, conduct walkthroughs, and maintain accurate participant counts.
• Enforce shelter guidelines and respond to conflicts using de-escalation techniques.
• Report critical incidents; maintain participant dignity and confidentiality.
• Complete participant intakes, orientations, and required paperwork.
• Explain shelter guidelines, schedules, and available services.
• Distribute essential supplies and address participant needs; encourage engagement with services.
• Set up sleeping areas, bedding, and maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Safely transport participants; maintain vehicle logs, inspections, and fueling.
• Maintain shelter logs and incident reports; communicate updates to supervisors.
• Perform required meetings and trainings; uphold iC.A.R.E. values.
