Job summary

BD is seeking a Manufacturing Operator in Columbus, NE to operate equipment safely and produce quality products per documentation. The role includes visual inspections, changeovers, basic troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with BD quality systems and GMP standards.

You will perform SAP data entries, assist with material movements, and maintain a clean, organized workspace while supporting a team to meet production goals. Prior manufacturing or MES experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; two years manufacturing experience acceptable.
• Experience with MES and SAP data entries is beneficial.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and produce quality products per documentation.

• Conduct changeovers, line clearance, and cleaning to maintain flow.
• Achieve production rate and quality goals on assigned equipment.

Job Description

Position Summary

Responsible for operating equipment in department safely and producing quality products per documentation. Perform quality checks, changeovers, SAP data entries, and basic troubleshooting. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Work as one of a team for maximum effectiveness and optimal task methods, which includes product inspection, operating equipment, raw material and finished goods movements and clean room area and equipment cleaning / sanitizing
• Perform visual inspections
• Perform basic troubleshooting of equipment
• Perform changeovers, line clearance and cleaning
• Achieve production rate and quality goals on assigned equipment
• Facilitate continuous operation of the equipment through breaks
• Perform rework
• Cross train where needed within the department to support the business
• Maintain all quality and GMP standards
• Perform needed SAP data entries
• May require the use of 10x microscope, calipers, and/or other miscellaneous gauges
• Participate on blitz teams as assigned
• Other duties as required to support the needs of the business

Education

• High School diploma/GED preferred
• In lieu of High School diploma/GED, two years manufacturing experience is required

Experience

• Previous manufacturing experience preferred
• Previous experience with MES preferred
• Previous experience with precision measuring instruments preferred
