Job summary

North Wind is seeking a Design and Systems Engineering Supervisor in Ronkonkoma, NY. The role oversees mechanical and electromechanical design activities, mentoring engineers and ensuring design tasks close on schedule.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in engineering with 10+ years of experience, strong communication, and the ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. A DOD security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, with 10+ years of related experience or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter who can manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Familiarity with aerospace research/test products and related analysis.
• US citizenship required to obtain/maintain a DOD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a small team of engineers, mentoring and reviewing output to drive tasks to closure.
• Manages engineering budgets and schedules and tracks team performance.
• Performs CAD modeling, stress calculations, mechanical design, packaging, and tolerance stacks.
• Supports customer and internal project meetings; tracks schedule and budget performance at task level.
• Generates BOMs, resource requests, reports, design reviews, assembly instructions, and interface documents.
