Job summary

Specter Aerospace in Boston, MA seeks an R&D Avionics Technician to install, integrate, and troubleshoot avionics and wiring on hypersonic flight hardware. You will fabricate wiring harnesses, integrate flight computers, and support bench testing and flight code validation.

The role requires a degree or equivalent hands-on experience, 2+ years in avionics/electrical tech, and the ability to travel up to 10%. U.S. security clearance eligibility and drug screening are required.

Qualifications

• Assoc. degree or equivalent hands-on experience in avionics/electrical tech.
• 2+ years of full-time avionics/electrical/aerospace technician experience.
• Wiring, soldering, crimping, and harness fabrication experience.
• Familiar with electrical test equipment: multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies.
• Ability to read engineering schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Willing to travel up to 10%.
• Eligible for U.S. Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Install and integrate avionics components, wiring harnesses, sensors, and subsystems.
• Fabricate and route wiring harnesses to aerospace standards.
• Perform electrical verification, continuity checks, and functional validation.
• Assist integration and testing of flight computers and telemetry links.
• Troubleshoot avionics/electrical issues during integration and bench tests.
• Work with engineers to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and test plans.
• Maintain build records, test docs, and configuration logs.
