Job summary

Iron Will Ventures seeks a Modeling & Simulation Engineer to support hypersonic and strike weapon system development at NSWC Crane. You will build and execute AFSIM and 6-DOF trajectory simulations to inform flight test design and weapon integration for DoD sponsors.

Responsibilities include developing AFSIM scenarios, validating 6-DOF dynamics, generating trajectory products, and contributing to digital mission engineering.)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or applied mathematics.
• 5+ years of hands-on modeling & simulation in defense.
• Proficient in AFSIM scenario construction and results analysis.
• Experience with 6-DOF trajectory/flight dynamics for missiles or hypersonic vehicles.
• Strong Python and/or MATLAB data reduction and visualization.
• Ability to work on-site at NSWC Crane and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and execute AFSIM scenarios and platform/sensor/weapon models for mission-level studies.
• Build and validate 6-DOF flight dynamics models for hypersonic/missile configurations.
• Generate trajectory products supporting flight test planning and analysis.
• Perform post-flight reconstruction and model validation against telemetry data.
• Support digital mission engineering workflows and data automation.
• Produce technical documentation and brief leadership with rapid responses.
• Coordinate with primes, test ranges, and government leads.
