Job summary

Stratolaunch seeks an Avionics or Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer (Level I–Sr) to design, build, integrate and test experimental payloads on the Talon-A hypersonic vehicles. Join a multi-disciplinary team, interface with management and customers, and contribute to instrumentation and telemetry solutions from concept to delivery.

The role requires evaluating payload requirements, developing system specs, and supporting flight-test activities with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in instrumentation, telemetry, or network engineering in a test environment.
• Experience with data acquisition systems and dataloggers.
• Experience with government procurement processes.
• Experience writing system requirements from customers.
• Experience designing test equipment for bench and in-vehicle testing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate payload requirements for integration onto a hypersonic test bed.
• Coordinate across teams to implement payload data collection and recording.
• Develop and test instrumentation and telemetry system requirements.
• Develop and support instrumentation and telemetry tests.
• Recommend workflow improvements and process changes.
• Support customer reviews and ensure on-time deliverables.
• Analyze flight data and generate customer reports.
• Represent the company professionally; travel as needed.
