Job summary

Stratolaunch seeks a Dynamics Engineer to own aeroelastic analysis, ground testing, model correlation, and aeroelastic flight testing for a hypersonic vehicle. You will contribute to structural and GNC performance, meeting design and mission requirements while implementing upgrades to strengthen the vehicle architecture.

The role includes developing instrumentation, supporting flight tests, and evaluating loads, environments, and flutter margins.

Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in structures or dynamics.
• Experience with composite design, modeling, and analysis.
• Proficiency in aeroelastic modeling with NASTRAN/ZAERO.
• Python or MATLAB data processing and modeling skills.
• Experience with aeroelastic ground testing and model correlation.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead aeroelastic development: analysis, ground test, flight test.
• Perform flutter margin analysis against program requirements.
• Conduct aeroservoelastic analysis to support GNC.
• Create models for other teams, e.g., structural FE models.
• Lead ground tests to anchor flutter models and dynamic tests.
• Define instrumentation requirements for your domain.
• Support flight test and post-test analyses of the vehicle.
• Evaluate loads and environments for models and analyses.
• Work with vehicle loads development and test data gathering.
• Develop risk mitigation plans for structural dynamics.
• Communicate with Structures, Aerodynamics, and GNC leads.
