Prime Data Centers is seeking a Sr. Structural Engineer to own end-to-end structural scope for hyperscale and purpose-built data center projects, from concept through construction, ensuring buildings, foundations, and equipment supports are safe, code-compliant, and cost-effective.

This hands-on, individual contributor role requires coordinating with Design, Civil, Architecture, MEP, Construction and Operations, and maintaining compliance with IBC and ASCE 7 across multiple jurisdictions.

Formación

• 8+ years in structural engineering, including mission-critical or heavy equipment facilities.
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain multi-state licensure.
• Strong knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, and code compliance across US jurisdictions.
• Experience with foundations for heavy/vibrating equipment and seismic/wind design.
• Experience in data centers, industrial or mission-critical environments.
• Ability to own large, complex scopes with minimal oversight.
• Experience designing for generators, switchgear, cooling plant, etc.
• Ability to communicate tradeoffs to non-engineers.
• Pride in delivering on schedule and budget.

Responsabilidades

• Lead structural design and review for buildings, foundations, and equipment support structures.
• Resolve heavy equipment loading, seismic/wind design across jurisdictions; soil/geotech foundations.
• Balance speed, risk, cost, and quality; flag design tradeoffs.
• Review submittals and coordinate load data with Design, MEP, and Civil.
• Define and evolve structural design standards for repeatable campus deployment.
• Identify prefabrication/modularization opportunities to reduce effort.
• Reduce technical debt and surprises with early sound engineering judgments.
• Collaborate with Design, Civil, Architecture, MEP, Construction and Operations.
• Support site selection and due diligence with structural risk assessment.
• Communicate structural tradeoffs clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Manage third-party structural consultant scoping, review, and quality control.
