Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Data Center Superintendent to lead daily on-site operations for a large hyperscale project in Columbus, OH. You will coordinate civil, structural, electrical, and carpentry trades, drive schedule milestones, and enforce safety and quality standards on a mission-critical build.

You will work closely with project management and engineering teams to ensure seamless field execution, manage subcontractors, and deliver the project on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• This role requires at least 5 years of superintendent experience on industrial, mission-critical, semiconductor, manufacturing, or data center projects.
• Proven experience with general contractors or subcontractors on large-scale builds.
• Strong ability to lead multiple trades and coordinate daily field activities.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and schedules.
• Experience managing safety programs and quality control on active sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily field operations and provide on-site supervision of construction activities.
• Oversee subcontractor activities across civil, structural, electrical, and carpentry trades.
• Monitor schedule performance and drive progress to milestones.
• Conduct daily site walks to address safety, quality, and schedule concerns.
• Coordinate work sequencing among trades and stakeholders for efficient workflow.
• Facilitate subcontractor meetings and daily planning to resolve conflicts.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and project requirements.
• Review drawings, specs, and work plans for constructability and alignment.
• Provide regular progress updates to leadership and project teams.
• Coordinate inspections, turnover, and punch-list activities for delivery.
• Collaborate with PMs and PEs to resolve field issues and maintain momentum.
• Support QA/QC efforts throughout execution.
• Maintain strong relationships with owners, clients, and subcontractors.
• Oversee MEP-intensive scopes in a hyperscale data center environment.
• Uphold safety, quality, and productivity in a fast-paced field setting.
