Job summary

Michels Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to join our team in Lomira, WI on large-scale hyperscale data center projects.

You will collaborate with project management and operations to support budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and reporting across multi-site assignments. You will develop dashboards, monitor costs, analyze trends, and provide accurate financial information to help keep projects on budget and schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline and 4+ years of related experience.
• General knowledge of accounting principles, business operations, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and cost management.
• Experience supporting project controls, cost controls, forecasting, project accounting, construction operations, or financial analysis activities.
• Ability to monitor project costs, analyze performance trends, develop forecasts, and provide actionable reporting to project teams.
• Experience reviewing contracts, managing change orders, and supporting project financial controls.
• Experience collaborating with project management, operations, procurement, estimating, legal, and accounting teams.
• Proven ability to use data to drive process improvements and support operational decision-making.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project costs, budgets, schedules, and performance targets.
• Prepare and analyze forecasts, monthly forecasts, cash flow reports, cost reports, and project performance metrics.
• Support project management teams by identifying trends, risks, budget variances, and opportunities for performance improvement.
• Collaborate with estimating, procurement, accounting, legal, project management, and operations teams to support project execution.
• Review project contracts and assist in identifying, tracking, and managing change orders.
• Support the development and implementation of project controls processes, procedures, reporting tools, and best practices.
• Assist with purchase order tracking, invoice allocation, commitment management, and cost coding activities.
• Facilitate project financial reviews, lessons learned sessions, PM-estimator handoffs, and other project-related meetings.

Education
