Job summary

Giga Energy is seeking a Data Center White Space Designer to lead the planning, design, and optimization of data center white space for AI infrastructure projects. You will own rack layouts, containment strategies, power distribution, cable pathways, and standards that enable hyperscale deployments.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, structural, and fire teams, travel to sites for validation, and mentor junior engineers to shape GIGA BASE roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of data center white space design, infrastructure design, or site engineering experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in rack layout, hot/cold containment, power distribution, and cabling design.
• Strong understanding of data center thermal management and power density optimization.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and infrastructure modeling.

Responsibilities

• Own white space and rack layout strategy for AI/ML racks and accelerator hardware.
• Define how rack requirements map to GIGA BASE and modular products.
• Collaborate with customers, colocation partners, and internal teams to align designs.
• Maintain Basis of Design documents and template layouts for AI/ML racks.
• Travel to data centers for validation, commissioning, and support.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design standards.
