Job summary

Spencer Hospital in Spencer, IA seeks a Hyperbaric Technician to administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy and wound care under a hyperbaric physician's supervision. You will open/close the chamber daily, perform quality control, and document treatment notes in the EMR.

The role requires relevant licensure (RRT, RN, LPN/LVN, EMT, CNA or equivalent) and completion of the Introductory Hyperbaric Medicine Course, with the ability to sit for the Certified Hyperbaric Technologist exam after hire.

Qualifications

• Licensed/credentialed in one of the following areas: RRT, RN, LPN/LVN, EMT, CNA or equivalent.
• Introductory Hyperbaric Medicine Course may be required.
• Must be able to take the Certified Hyperbaric Technologist exam soon after hire.

Responsibilities

• Administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy, diagnostic testing and basic wound care under supervision.
• Perform daily chamber opening/closing and document per policy.
• Perform QC on glucometer and infection control standards for equipment.
• Maintain equipment and backup air/oxygen supplies; document usage.
• Document treatment notes and maintain EMR records and reports.
• Schedule patient treatment times; answer inquiries and coordinate with staff.
• Assist with inventory and supplies, and contribute to department marketing as needed.
• Ensure a safe, clean environment and assist with patient transfers during wound care.

Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.** **Responsibilities:** * Administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy, diagnostic testing, and basic wound care to patients of Department of Hyperbaric Medicine, under the supervision of a hyperbaric physician. All therapeutic and diagnostic modalities will be ordered by the hyperbaric physician.* Perform daily chamber opening and closing duties and document per policy.* Perform quality control daily on department glucometer, or as required by policy.* Clean and maintain equipment according to infection control standards.* Maintain equipment and check backup air and oxygen supplies on a daily basis and document per policy.* Document treatment notes and maintain patient treatment/diagnostic records. Ensure accuracy of all forms and reports.* Complete the patient's treatment charges, if required.* Maintain continuous quality improvement duties and chart audits.* Interface personally and telephonically with hospital staff, employees and family members.
