Job summary

Commonspirit-Health in Colorado Springs is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to operate hyperbaric chambers and support physicians with treatment plans while ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of hyperbaric therapy.

You will oversee daily operations, assist with ED and ICU respiratory care, and deliver education on safety drills and emergency responses in line with DNV and UHMS guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/ GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program (CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEP).
• CRT by NBRC required.
• Basic Life Support- American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support- American Heart Association (ACLS) current or within 6 months of hire (1 year for KS locations).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support- current PALS within 6 months of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program- current NRP within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers respiratory care procedures to patients in general, acute, critical care, and emergency areas.
• Performs therapeutic modalities including patient monitoring, medication delivery, ventilation management, expansion therapy, and bronchial hygiene.
• Assists in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency care with airway management and cardiac support.
• Performs diagnostic testing including ABGs, PFTs, EKGs, bronchoscopy, and pulse oximetry.
• Develops care plans from assessment via protocol criteria or physician orders.
• Provides patient and family education and teaching.
