CBNA, part of Bouygues Construction, is seeking a Hyperbaric Adit Works Manager to lead the most technical elements of the Potomac River Tunnel project in the Washington DC area. You will coordinate hyperbaric interventions, two TBM drives, and slurry plant performance.
You will also assume construction responsibility for the adit works, ensure safety and quality compliance, manage a multidisciplinary team across shifts, and own the scope budget while reporting progress and KPIs.
Part of the global Bouygues Construction group, which employs over 35,600 people worldwide, Bouygues Travaux Publics is a recognized leader in civil engineering and major infrastructure development, delivering innovative and sustainable projects across the globe.
In the United States, Civil and Building North America (CBNA) leads the delivery of complex underground and infrastructure projects. CBNA notably delivered the Port of Miami Tunnel in 2014 and the Pawtucket CSO Tunnel in 2025, and is currently working on major projects such as the Potomac River Tunnel in the Washington, DC area.
The Potomac River Tunnel project is a landmark initiative under the Clean Rivers Project. The project aims to construct a nearly 5.5 miles tunnel beneath the Potomac River with 2 different TBM, serving as a critical infrastructure element to control combined sewer overflows. This will significantly enhance the water quality of the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers and Rock Creek while bolstering the sewer system’s capacity.
The Hyperbaric Adit Works Manager is responsible for the highest risk and most technical elements of the tunnel scope. During excavation, you'll manage hyperbaric interventions, cutting tool strategy across two TBM drives, and slurry treatment plant performance. As the drives complete, you will take construction responsability for the adit works, which are prepared in parallel and executed once the TBMs are through.
